Dr. B. Peter Austin has a B.A. degree in biology from Hobart College, Geneva, New York, a Ph.D. in anatomy from the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, New York. He earned his dental degree (D.D.S.) and a Certificate in Endodontics from Marquette University School of Dentistry. Dr. Austin was an award-winning teacher at Marquette and after 20 years retired from academics as the Acting Head of the Division of Endodontics. He has presented numerous continuing education courses to dentists and has authored over 30 publications, many of which appear in the Journal of Endodontics and the Journal of Dental Research. Dr. Austin joined Madison Endodontic Associates in 1995.
Dr. Austin is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the OKU Dental Honorary Fraternity, the Pierre Fauchard Academy (an international honor dental organization), the American Dental Association, the Wisconsin Dental Association, the Dane County Dental Society, a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, and a member and past president of the Wisconsin Association of Endodontists. Dr. Austin has also served on two important national committees of the American Dental Association: The Council on Scientific Affairs and the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations.
